Your first ad campaign can feel scary: "What if the budget goes to waste?" The worry is fair — but if you start small and stay in control, ads become your fastest way to learn.

Before you start: set up measurement

The only way to know whether an ad works is to measure it. Add the Meta Pixel to your site and, if you can, send server-side events with the Conversions API (CAPI). At minimum, track page views, sign-ups and (if you sell) purchases.

1. Pick one goal

Do not ask for everything in your first campaign. Choose one goal — more sign-ups or more sales — and set the campaign up for it.

2. Keep the daily budget small

Start with a daily budget you can afford to lose and keep it steady for a few days. Changing it every day makes it harder for the system to learn.

3. Do not narrow the audience too much

On new accounts, very narrow interests can mean the ad reaches too few people. Start with a basic location and age range and give the system room to learn.

4. Test three messages

Try three headlines with the same image, or three images with the same headline. After a few days, compare which one gets more clicks and conversions.

5. Scale the winner, pause the rest

After a few days of data, keep the best ad and pause the weak ones. Raise the budget gradually; doubling it overnight can make results swing.

Watch out: automatic spend

Read suggested settings in ad tools carefully before accepting them. Making budget and campaign changes only with your approval avoids surprises.

In short

  • Set up measurement first.
  • One goal, a small and steady budget.
  • Test a few messages and scale the winner.

Advenro's ads area shows your campaigns in one place, drafts your ad copy and prepares new ads paused — nothing is spent until you approve it.
